Scientific Illustration

Scientific illustration is a specific form of art where communicating facts and information about the subject is more important than the "artistic" interpretation of the subject. Although aesthetic considerations are still important, the illustration's main purpose is to convey scientific information whether it be in a medical text book or a botanical atlas.
